Perception, Recognition and Integration for Interactive Environments

Presentation

Project PRIMA concentrates on systems and services for smart, interactive environments.

The objective of Project PRIMA is to develop the scientific and technological foundations for human environments that are capable of perceiving, acting, communicating, and interacting with people. Such environments are expected to provide an enabling technology for human-centered services that can be used to improve quality of life while addressing societal challenges such as aging, energy efficiency, family cohesion, cost of living and personal security. The construction of such environments offers a rich set of research problems concerning computer vision, acoustic perception, machine learning, machine intelligence, systems integration and man-machine interaction.  Our goal is make progress on the theoretical foundations for these challenges, while developing new technologies with important potential for commercial and societal impact.
